Saints put Vilma on PUP; re-sign WR Arrington

The Saints this afternoon put middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma, who had his season-long suspension overturned by a CBA appeals on Friday, on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list.

Vilma is coming off several knee operations and didn’t practice with the team all spring and summer before being banned from the training room when his suspension kicked in at the start of training camp.

Also, wide receiver Arrington, who missed most of training camp after having his knee scoped on Aug. 13, was re-signed. Arrington was released by the team on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, the Saints signed tackle Bryce Harris (6-6, 300) from the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. He’ll take the roster spot vacated by rookie Marcel Jones, who was put on injured reserve Saturday after suffering a season-ending knee injury in practice last week.
