Breast cancer refers to a malignant tumor that developed from cells found with-in the breast. The Lymph Nodes are designed to filter out unidentified material in your body and eliminate it from reentry. The true concern of cancerous lymph nodes is that it opens up a direct highway into other organs that the cancer will inevitably invade. Good news is that this can be prevented by catching the cancer in the early stages through preventative measure. symptoms of breast cancer in young women This article will discuss the support and education around breast cancer found readily available here in the US.

There are plenty of preventative measures available today to pre-diagnose a breast cancer symptom, but is up to you to take the first step. signs and symptoms of breast cancer The best first step is to see a licensed practitioner to get a full and recommended yearly examination; the practitioner will be able to answer any questions of concern you may have. Breast cancer symptoms can range from lumps, swelling and infections but there are several different types of breast cancer resulting in several different tests available today. With-in the variety of breast related cancers there are approximately 9 stages of invasion, stage IV being the most deadly. Mississippi State survives LSU comeback

Mississippi State has hung on for a 76-71 victory. LSU was down only three with the ball, but Dee Bost forced a turnover to seal it for the Bulldogs.

Check back later for more.

A barrage of long-range buckets has LSU within 70-68 with 25 seconds to play. Mississippi State will have to win this one at the free-throw line.

A long delay after Ralston Turner hit an apparent 3 from the right corner just a minute ago. After studying video of Turner’s shots, the officials ruled the 3 good.

Arnett Moultrie continues to show why he’s one of 25 finalists for the Wooden Award given to the nation’s top player.

Moultrie has struck for five straight points, helping Mississippi State pull in front of LSU 61-52 with 5:20 to play. Moultrie leads all scorers with 22 points.

Jalen Steele struck again with anothe big 3-pointer for Mississippi State, but LSU continues to hang around. The Tigers trail only 56-52 with 7:37 to play.

Andre Stringer has hit a pair of 3-pointers, pulling LSU within 49-44 with 11:42 remaining. LSU had falled down by as much as 49-38 on a pair of Rodney Hood free throws.

Stringer has a team-high 13 points.

Keyed by big man Renardo Sidney’s surprise 3-pointer, Mississippi State has gone up 39-33 with 16:47 to play. LSU led 33-32 when Justin Hamilton scored on a putback to open the second half, but an alley-oop dunk by Arnett Moultrie gave State the lead back, and Sidney then hit from downtown for a four-point cushion.

Rodney Hood just scored inside and was fouled by Ralston Turner. He is at the line looking to make it a seven-point game.

LSU had the lead and the ball as the clock ticked under 10 seconds to play in the first half. A lazy pass by Anthony Hickey, however, was intercepted by Arnett Moultrie, who went the length of the court for a lay-up with three seconds to go.

State has a 32-31 lead as the teams enter intermission.

Reserve guard Jalen Steele did much of the damage for the Bulldogs as the home team overcome early deficits of 18-11 and 28-22. Steele, who averages only 7.3 points, had eight straight for State late in the first half to enter the break with a game-high 10.

Looking to win its second straight game at Humphrey Coliseum, LSU took its first lead on a Hickey layup at the 18:26 mark and did not trail until Steele hit a pair of free throws for a 30-28 edge with 2:24 to play. Ralston Turner gave the Tigers the lead back when he connected on a 3 with 55 seconds left, but the cheap basket by Moultrie gave the lead back to the Bulldogs.

LSU shot 46.2 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent (3-for-7) from 3-point range. But State has dominated the battle on the boards 20-12.

Andre Stringer has seven points for LSU, followed by Justin Hamilton and Hickey with five apiece.

Moultrie has nine points for State.

Mississippi State guard Jalen Steele has come off the bench to spark the Bulldogs. He has eight points so far, including back-to-back 3’s to draw the Bulldogs even at 28-28 with 2:30 to play in the first half.

Justin Hamilton had given LSU a 28-22 lead with an inside score with 3:53 to go.

Andre Stringer and Chris Bass have hit back-to-back long-range jumpers, helping LSU answer a mini-State run. The Tigers now lead 23-18 with 6:37 to go in the first half.

Highly entertaining game thus far.

LSU’s now up 18-11 with 9:25 to go in the first half thanks to a thunderous dunk by Storm Warren in a halfcourt situation and a Justin Hamilton putback jam of a Chris Bass missed jumper.

Mississippi State has cut into LSU’s early five-point lead, but the Tigers still hold a 14-11 edge with 11:22 to play in the first half here at Humphrey Coliseum.

Some notes:

* Johnny O’Bryant checked in along with Andre Stringer with at about the 15-minute mark and promptly knocked down a jumper from the left wing. O’Bryant, who underwent surgery Jan. 5 to repair a broken bone in his left (non-shooting) hand, is wearing bandages on the hand. He is seeing his first action of the SEC season.

* Eddie Ludwig got his first start of the SEC slate as coach Trent Johnson played Stringer off the bench.

* Star newcomer Arnett Moutrie scored five of State’s first seven points.

LSU 65, Auburn 58 (OT), 3 keys

1. Hickey’s huge: Anthony Hickey’s stat line tells the story. He had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. His penetration led to an open 3-pointer for Andre Stringer for perhaps the biggest bucket of overtime. And he hit big shot after big shot.

2. Frankie’s finished early: Frankie Sullivan, Auburn’s leading scorer at 11.6 points per game, scored 19 points in the game’s first 24:22. For the last 20:38, he was scoreless. “We kept contact with him,” LSU coach Trent Johnson said of LSU’s defense on Sullivan. “We made him have to work.”

3. Missing, but not forgotten: Stringer was scoreless when Hickey fed him in the corner for his only points of the night, a 3-pointer that gave LSU a 5-point lead with 1:24 left. And Hamilton, who had 13 points and 8 rebounds, was scoreless in the second half, but scored four of LSU’s nine overtime points.

Cervical Cancer Signs And Symptoms

Not every disease has to end in death; but you need to do your part for that to be true, which is why you as a woman need to become aware of cervical cancer signs and symptoms.

So, what is cervical cancer? It is a kind of cancer that ensues when abnormal cells on the cervix grow out of control. (The cervix is the lower part of the uterus, or womb, that leads to the vagina.)

This not only reveals whether you have cervical cancer or not, but it can also detect any abnormal cells that might lead to cervical cancer.

It is important to note that early on stages of cervical cancer doesn’t usually cause symptoms to show up, which is why you should get regular health checkups.

The American Cancer Society recently came out with some recent statistics for 2012:

” About 12,170 new cases of invasive cervical cancer will be diagnosed

” Appr. 4,220 women will die from cervical cancer

Again, when you are diligent to take advantage of the available prevention methods, there can also be good news awaiting you. what are symptoms of cervical cancer Remember, getting a pap smear is vitally important to early detection.

Ronald Martin joins LSU basketball team

Three days after the LSU football team ended its season, freshman safety Ronald Martin officially became a two-sport athlete when he practiced with Trent Johnson’s basketball team for the first time.

Johnson said Martin will travel with the Tigers this weekend when LSU continues its Southeastern Conference basketball schedule Saturday at Arkansas. The first order of business, however, is to get the former White Castle star comfortable with LSU’s attack on offense and defense.

“You would have liked to have had him a week or two before a game,” Johnson said. “But believe me, if he can help us, he’s going to be out there. The sooner, the better.”

Martin, 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, earned all-state honors as a senior at White Castle in football and basketball after leading the Bulldogs to the Class 1A state title in both sports.

As a basketball player, Johnson said Martin is strong, has a nice outside jumper and a good skill set.

“And he obviously likes contact, which I like,” Johnson said.

Martin is the first LSU football player to hit the Pete Maravich Assembly Center hardwood since Robert Royal, an All-SEC tight end who played in five games for John Brady in the 2000-01 season.

As a freshman on the LSU football team, Martin played in three games, registering two solo tackles and one asssit.

O'Bryant out indefinitely; White to miss Ole Miss game

LSU will be without freshman forward Johnny O’Bryant III indefinitely. O’Bryant suffered a broken bone in his left (non-shooting) hand during practice Wednesday and is expected to undergo surgery Thursday.

On his Facebook page, O’Bryant said he will be out a month.

O’Bryant, a McDonald’s All-American last year at East Side High in Cleveland, Miss., had started eight straight games. He is averaging 7.9 points, and he ranks second on the team in rebounds averaging 6.2 per game.

Senior Storm Warren, a starter in LSU’s first six games, will return to the starting lineup when the Tigers face Ole Miss on Saturday to open Southeastern Conference play.

The Tigers will also be without senior Malcolm White, who will miss the game Saturday to attend his grandmother’s funeral.

White is an Ole Miss transfer.

LSU can lean on Eddie Ludwig, who has played mostly on the wing this season, to help offset the loss of O’Bryant and White in the post.

LSU joins SEC, SEC member institutions in recognizing “We Back PAT” week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – LSU, the Southeastern Conference and the SEC’s member institutions announce “We Back Pat” Week, a week-long initiative focused on bringing awareness and recognition to the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and its fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

During the week of Jan. 15-22, SEC member institutions will support the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund during their home basketball games. During the 17 women’s and 12 men’s games slated for the week, various efforts will be made to increase awareness of the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund. Twenty of these games will be televised.

The LSU women’s basketball team will play three televised games during “We Back Pat” week, including Thursday, Jan. 19 at Tennessee when LSU head coach Nikki Caldwell faces her mentor in Summitt. The LSU men’s basketball team hosts Auburn on Tuesday, Dec. 17 then travels to Florida on Saturday, Jan. 21 as part of the festivities.

Fans can contribute to the Foundation and recognize the cause by purchasing a “We Back Pat” LSU t-shirt, Jan. 15-22, which will be sold through Proceeds of the shirt will go directly to the Pat Summitt Foundation.

Caldwell played for Summitt from 1990-94 and then joined the Hall of Famer’s staff as an assistant coach in 2002. In six seasons as an assistant coach at Tennessee, Caldwell was part of a staff that won two NCAA national championships, three SEC regular season championships and three SEC Tournament championships. As a freshman at Tennessee in 1991, Caldwell was a member of a Lady Vol squad that went 30-5 overall and claimed the NCAA national title.

“It says a lot about the SEC, the administrators and the coaching staffs from every school to come together for this initiative for Coach Summitt,” said Caldwell. “It took a lot of courage for Coach Summitt, but she’s always been one of our most courageous leaders. She never backs down from opponents nor will she back down from this challenge.”

Beyond the wins, the championships and the Final Four appearances, Caldwell says the values and lessons Summitt taught her during her playing and coaching days helped shape the person she is today.

“She’s such a remarkable person,” added Caldwell. “She’s meant so much to me outside of basketball. We all love her to death and there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for her. The best thing we can do is support her foundation and keep her in our prayers. As a former player and a former assistant for her, the way she has handled it has given us strength.”

The Pat Summitt Foundation Fund launched Nov. 27, 2011, by Pat Summitt after her diagnosis of early onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type at the age of 59. In a videotaped statement shown during the announcement of the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund, Pat Summitt said, “Tyler and I have decided to join this battle, not just for us, but also for the millions of families affected by this disease. I have always told our players, our greatest opportunities are disguised as our greatest obstacles. It is time to treat this obstacle as an opportunity and a stepping stone to a cure.”

“Pat Summitt is a leader both on and off the court,” said SEC Commissioner Mike Sliver. “The establishment of the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund only reiterates this point. We are pleased that the Southeastern Conference can play a small part in helping Pat reach her goals for The Foundation Fund today and in the future.”

The Pat Summitt Foundation Fund will make grants to nonprofits which provide:

• Education and awareness of Alzheimer’s, its onset and treatment

• Support services to patients, their families and caregivers

• Research to treat, prevent, cure, and ultimately eradicate this disease
