Former LSU center Geert Hammink will be honored as the school’s SEC legend at this year’s SEC Tournament.
One former player from each school will be recognized at halftime of their team’s first game at the tournament, March 13-17 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
A native of The Netherlands, Hammink played at LSU from 1988-89 and 1990-93. He earned All-SEC honors as a senior in 1992-93 when he took over the starting spot after Shaquille O’Neal went to the NBA.
Hammink’s son, Shane, is a freshman on this year’s LSU team.

Fans can purchase half-price tickets for the LSU Lady Tigers’ Feb. 4 home game with Texas A&M, set for an 8 p.m. tipoff at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on ESPN2.
General admission tickets will be reduced to $3 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 12 and younger. Reserved tickets will be reduced to $5 for lower bowl and $4 for middle tier sections in the PMAC.
The contest has also been designated as LSU’s annual “Gold Game.” The school will give away 2,000 gold Lady Tiger basketball T-shirts to fans attending the contest.
