Starting lineups for the Southern-Alcorn game; follow us on Twitter

We’re about to get under way this morning at Lee-Hines Field, where — surprise! — Southern baseball coach Roger Cador has already made a change.

For this elimination game against Alcorn State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament at Lee-Hines Field, he’ll start right-hander Daniel Garcia, who threw 1.1 relief innings in Wednesday’s 6-4 loss to Mississippi Valley.

The Jaguars — who don’t have Brian Foster this morning; the senior is graduating across the parking lot at the F.G. Activity Center — initially planned to start one of two freshman left-handers, Pedro Fargas or John Thigpen.

The winner will advance to face undefeated Mississippi Valley State at 3 p.m. Friday, attempting to grab two victories in one day.
