Football signings reach 17; one commitment lost

Southern has received signed scholarship papers from nine high-school football players Wednesday.

They join eight transfers who are already enrolled to give the Jaguars 17 signees in this year’s recruiting class. The reigning Southwestern Athletic Conference champions expect to add a couple more┬ásignees.

Southern lost one commitment as quarterback Cordelral Cook of Stone Mountain (Ga.) High School signed with Alabama State.
