LSU first baseman Mason Katz will have an opportunity to tie an NCAA record in the first inning of the Tigers game against Dartmouth at 2 p.m. Saturday in Alex Box Stadium.
Katz has reached base in 17 consecutive plate appearances, which is one short of the record set by Shaun Larkin of Cal State Northridge in 2002. He’ll bat third in the lineup.
Jackson Slaid is back in the lineup as the designated hitter after being sidelined by the flu. He replaces Casey Yocom.
