Rhymes grounds out in first at bat

LSU left fielder Raph Rhymes grounded out on a high chopper to short in his first at bat Wednesday night against SLU, though replays showed he beat the throw.

Rhymes protested only for a moment then headed back to the dugout, his average now at .496. The call shows how difficult it will be for Rhymes to maintain this pace and try to become the first college hitter since 1991 to bat .500. A bad call knocks you back four points.

The Tigers trail the Lions 1-0 in the bottom of the second.

More updates to come.
