Rhymes hits sac fly to left in 3rd inning, Tigers take 2-1 lead

Raph Rhymes worked a full count on SLU reliever Tanner Rainey in the bottom of the third inning before lifting a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to left.

That easily scored JaCoby Jones from third to tie the score 1-1. Austin Nola followed that with a sharp double down the left field line to score Arby Fields from second. Tyler Moore followed that with a solid two-RBI single to center to give LSU a 4-1 lead going to the fourth.

Rhymes is now 0-for-1 tonight with an RBI, his team-leading 45th of the season. He’s still hitting .496 after grounding out to third in the first inning, though it was a ball that replays showed he beat out.
