LSU’s game against Texas Southern scheduled for 3 p.m. has been pushed back to 5 p.m. because of thunderstorms rolling through the area.

The first game of Sunday’s doubleheader at Alex Box Stadium, Virginia Tech against Toledo, has been canceled.

A line of storms began to move into the area Sunday morning. There is a 50 percent chance of rain through 3 p.m. The chance then begins to diminish.

The LSU-Texas Southern game has no curfew and can continue to be delayed until rain stops.

LSU, ranked No. 8 in Baseball America, has opened the season on a six-game winning streak and has swept its last two opponents (Virginia Tech and Toledo) during this weekend round robin by a combined score of 24-1.

Texas Southern (2-5) lost to Virginia Tech 8-2 Saturday and to Toledo 1-0 on Friday.

LSU is scheduled to start true freshman Jared Poché on Sunday.
