What At Stake

  • Stopping the skid, right? LSU has lost two of the last four games. The Tigers have two losses nine games earlier than last season. That’s to be expected with an inexperienced group, but a second straight loss would seem to create doubts about this team’s future. The Tigers haven’t lost three of five regular season non-conference games since March 2009.

What To Watch

  • Domangue’s resurrection: Coach Paul Mainieri really likes Brady Domangue and he’s giving the former LSU-Eunice star a chance to prove his skills as a starter. Domangue struggled in his first two relief appearances this season, but his last one was solid. Domangue, with a good outing against Sacred Heart, can throw his hat into the ring for a weekend starting gig, the coach said.
  • Kramer’s play: Mainieri said Monday that second baseman Kramer Robertson’s play dictates, in a way, his everyday starting group. The coach wants to keep Robertson in the lineup and Hale at first base. That gives him several options at DH (Kade Scivicque and Tyler Moore) and a trio of folks at catcher (Scivicque, Moore and Chris Chinea). And it gives him a speedy, play-making second baseman. If Robertson begins to slip (the freshman can be erratic)? Well, things change.
