Public bodies could only change their posted meeting agendas by a unanimous vote when they are in session under a bill advanced Tuesday by the Louisiana House.
The House voted 90-5 for the measure sponsored by state Rep. Nancy Landry, R-Lafayette.
Landry said there is “silence” in the law about what happens between the posting of a meeting agenda and the meeting. She said some entities add items after the posting.
“This is just a clarification of the open meetings law to help the public participate in the process,” said Landry.
House Bill 1143 now moves to the Senate for consideration.
