Debate has begun Thursday morning in the Louisiana House on the $25 billion proposed state operating budget that begins July 1.
There is disagreement among legislators on the amount of one-time money used to balance House Bill 1, which funds hospitals, colleges and other state services.
“House Bill 1 probably doesn’t make anyone in this state happy or satisfied,” said state Rep. Jim Fannin, D-Jonesboro and the legislation’s sponsor.
