OK, the only reason this is a sports story is because it involves a sports figure.

Enter our hero, former New York Jet and Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Keyshawn Johnson riding a Prius. (A white horse would have been better, but Johnson isn’t into symbolism and gas in California like everywhere else is expensive.)

The villain in this case is teen heart throb Justin Bieber, who is having an incredibly bad year.

Johnson didn’t appreciate the way Bieber recklessly sped around his town of Calabasas, Calif. in his Ferrari recently and tried to have a confrontation with Bieber at Bieber’s house. Only, Bieber isn’t dumb, and refused to come out of his house to talk to the angry receiver.

Bieber was later talked to about his driving by the local police.

You can’t make this stuff up, regardless of where you get the story.

And because of that, we thank TMZ for giving us "The Story of the Day."

He has yet to play a down or find out who he will be taking handoffs from in the regular season, but good fortune continues to follow former Saints running back Chris Ivory in New York City.

First, there was the nice little three-year, $6.9 million he signed with the Saints, which helped pave the way for his trade to the Jets.

Then, there was the little matter of running back Mike Goodson being arrested on drug and gun charges.

Goodson figured to take plenty of practice time and even playing time from Ivory, but now that won’t happen as he deals with his legal situation.

Now that his competition is in trouble, look for former Saints running back Chris Ivory to take advantage of his new opportunity with the Jets. (AP Photo/Rich Schultz)

Ivory isn’t gloating over his teammate’s misfortune.

So, we’ll do it for him.

First, we’ll give him the "Story of the day."

Then, we’ll Jets fans something about Ivory that Saints fans already know: Whenever Ivory gets a chance, he always comes up big.

It’s Dwayne Bowe’s turn to make a bold prediction. (Rick Osentoski/AP)

Former LSU receiver Dwayne Bowe is overflowing with confidence in Kansas City these days, and who can blame him?

New Chiefs coach Andy Reid is one of the best coaches in the league. Kansas City also has a new quarterback in Alex Smith, who only led the 49ers to the NFC Championship game two years ago and led the NFL in passer rating before he was unceremoniously replaced by Colin Kaepernick.

Bowe has predicted that he will lead the NFL in receptions next year.

It’s a bold way of thinking from a receiver, who has never been shy about his confidence in his own abilities.

For his brashness, Bowe gets "The Story of the Day."

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com has come out with his list of the top 100 players in the NFL.

Of course, this is strictly for debate purposes only.

After all, why come out with this kind of column three months after the Super Bowl?

But Prisco is one of the best NFL writers around, and some of his points are valid. His placements? Well, you be the judge.

Here is the story.

I’ve got my doubts about Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers being the No. 1 player when he didn’t even get his team to the NFC Championship game.

I list Tom Brady ahead of Peyton Manning, because of what their respective teams did in the playoffs.

I can live with Drew Brees at No. 12, because I think he is in the 10 to 15 range.

But there is NO WAY the Cincinnati Bengals should get two players in the top 15 and guard Marshal Yanda at No. 15 SHOULD NOT be the first Baltimore Raven listed.

What would have happened to left tackle Chris Faulk had he decided to return to play at LSU this season after missing most of last season with a knee injury?

We will never know the answer to the question.

Faulk entered the draft and signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Browns.

Faulk, who said he has no regrets about the decision, will be participating in the Browns’ rookie mini camp starting Friday.

Faulk’s road back to football is the subject of today’s “"Story of the day."

Faulk knows he has a tough road to playing in the National Football League, but here is hoping that his dream can become a reality.

Former LSU safety Ryan Clark is smart, clever and articulate and has positioned himself for a future at ESPN after his career in the National Football League.

But it’s his present of occasionally speaking on ESPN that could affect his future as the starting safety with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Our "Story of the day" is about Clark taking some bold shots at the New England Patriots, in particular quarterback Tom Brady.

Maybe Clark forgot that Brady has won three Super Bowls? Maybe it slipped Clark’s mind that Patriots coach Bill Belichick is one of the greatest coaches in the history of the National Football League?

Or maybe Clark forgot that the Steelers play at New England on Nov. 3?

There is one thing for certain: Belichick and Brady definitely won’t forget what Clark said.

When it comes to selecting quarterbacks, let’s just say that Mike Ditka, known for frequenting casinos over the years, doesn’t have a history of picking winning hands.

You can even go so far as to say that outside of Jim McMahon, Ditka’s most well known quarterbacks, Mike Tomczak, Heath Shuler and Danny Wuerffel, are three jokers.

(Sorry, we couldn’t resist, but at least it stays with the gambling theme.)

Which brings us to our "Story of the day."

Iron Mike actually thinks that Tim Tebow, formerly of the New York Jets and Denver Broncos, can play quarterback in the National Football League.

To his credit, Ditka also said Tebow could play tight end, a position that Ditka played in his hall of fame career.

But Ditka did say quarterback, and here is the proof.

What is it about Tim Tebow that causes people to say the most outrageous things?
