Hot time, cold beer at Slow Food social

Cans of Blonde Ale

Cans of Blonde Ale are stacked for shipping at Tin Roof Brewing Co. on Aug. 1.

100 degrees

Yes, that hot. At 6 p.m.

<Insert hot Tin Roof joke here.>

Slow Food Baton Rouge got together Aug. 1 inside a broiling Tin Roof Brewing Co. (Seriously?! Can you imagine what it was like at 2 p.m.?)

Luckily, the brewery had plenty of cold drinks and slices of watermelon, appropriate since Tin Roof’s summer seasonal is a delectable Watermelon Wheat.

Rumors of Tin Roof’s second seasonal  percolated during the event. Stay tuned …

Crowd tours Tin Roof

Slow Foodies tour Tin Roof's brewery, led by marketing director John Peak. Note the names of the tanks behind him: Lake Ponchartrain and Lake Maurepas.
