Running back Derrius Guice went through his first spring football practice Tuesday, and Anthony Jennings continues to be absent from drills.

LSU moved its second day of spring practice indoors because of a rain storm that rolled through Baton Rouge.

Jennings, the Tigers’ starting quarterback in 2014, missed his second straight day of practice for unknown reasons. Coach Les Miles told The Advocate on Monday that he wasn’t sure if Jennings would rejoin the team this spring.

Devin White continued to run with the inside linebackers on Tuesday.

Guice, suffering from an eye infection Monday, rejoined his squad for the second day of drills on Tuesday.

More news nuggets and videos from drills:

  • Missing: Guice was the only player absent at Monday’s drills who practiced Tuesday. Several others who are not known to be suffering from injuries, including Jennings, remained absent: DB Corey Thompson, TEs DeSean Smith and Foster Moreau, and OL Jevonte Domond. Miles said Monday that many of them were academic issues.
  • Left and right: LSU O-line coach Jeff Grimes has been splitting up his players into two groups, it appears – those expected to play the right side and those expected to play the left side. Chidi Okeke (LT), Maea Teuhema (LT/LG) and Adrian Magee (LG) worked on the left side. The same group who worked on the right side Monday did the same Tuesday, including right tackle Toby Weathersby and right guard Garrett Brumfield.
  • LBs or DEs: Arden Key, Tashawn Bower and Isaiah Washington were back practicing with the defensive line Tuesday after seeing some time working with outside linebackers Monday. The Tigers lined up in a four-down linemen set during a drill. Those four: DE Tashawn Bower, DT Christian LaCouture, DT Davon Godchaux, DE Lewis Neal.
  • Receiver rotation: It’s tough to ascertain a depth chart from watching a few drills, but LSU’s top five receivers performed drills in this order: Malachi Dupre, D.J. Chark, Dee Anderson, Tyron Johnson and Stephen Sullivan.
