LSU coach Les Miles is starring in another commercial, sharing the spotlight with Mike, the Tigers mascot.
This one is for an EA Sports NCAA football video game that allows players to place last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, on any of a variety of college teams.
Miles walks into an LSU football office and catches Mike — the one in the Tiger suit, not the live bengal — playing the video game on a TV. After seeing that his mascot has Griffin, and not a Tiger, playing quarterback for LSU, Miles rips Mike’s jersey off and kicks him out.
“You were like a son to me,” Miles says, feigning dramatic disappointment, “a Tiger son.”
Miles has appeared in other humorous commercials, including one for ESPN in which he taste-samples blades of grass with ESPN analyst Lee Corso.
