Reports are building that things are looking good, possibly great, for LSU with Oxford (Miss.) Lafayette quarterback Jeremy Liggins.
A report from Rebels247, a 24/7 Sports recruiting site, says that Liggins (6-3, 270) is saying he will commit to LSU over Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Scout.com site TigerSportsDigest.com also indicates that LSU is making strong inroads with Liggins, but stopped short Monday morning of saying that Liggins is a Tiger commitment.
Liggins visited LSU weekend before last (Jan. 20-22). He has been expected to make his announcement tonight.
Liggins is ranked No. 93 on the 24/7 Sports Top 247 and No. 118 on the ESPNU 150.
Meanwhile, 2013 LSU commitment Jeryl Brazil (5-9, 185) of Loranger had Tiger fans aflutter Sunday when he tweeted that he was decommitting to check out other schools (Ole Miss, Auburn, Clemson).
Later in the day he said he was back in the fold, apparently after a talk with LSU recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson. However, Brazil may still look around a bit – it’s a long way to February 2013.
Brazil, who is on the ESPNU 150 Watch List, is LSU’s only 2013 commitment so far.
jerly brazil –yes . . . all that speed; i hope we can find a way to take advantage of it. we already have a guy who processes great speed with r. shepard–and what? we used him three times in the n.c. game. maybe this will change now that we hopefully have a more consistent q.b.. as fans i think we’ve beat last season’s offense to pieces. i’ve heard not only fans but sports writers talk about how poor last season’s offense was. personally i thought it was awesome. over thirty points in most games, forty plus in others. the n.c. game was a mystery. bama is a great team period. i’m a fan who thinks it could have went the other way. it simply wasn’t our day. we got beat. so as a fan i’m going to leave it be.
now we have a shot at jeremy liggings, the miss q.b.. we certainly need another q.b.. although i’m not a duel threat q.b. fan. i like the tall pro style q.b.s and the offense that go with them. except i’m happy everytime one of our q.b.s runs and is not hurt. i just wouldn’t want to make a living that way with a q.b.. i hope mr liggins comes our way, but i’ll believe it when i see it.
right now i think we are looking pretty good offense wise; provided our o line is decent. i believe we have great running backs, a decent ”consistent” and i think a decent o line which will make it all possible.
